The history of Moko Pizza began in 2018 in Mariupol, Donetsk region. The first pizzeria was opened on 1 February 2018 at 87b Mira Ave. This spacious pizzeria, with a large hall and a technological kitchen, was located in the very centre of Mariupol. For 10 months, we worked on the format, created a menu, set up processes and launched a pizzeria in Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, on 28 October of the same year.

This pizzeria was built in a slightly different format than the one in Mariupol. A small guest room and kitchen were built here, and the main focus of the Pokrovsk operation was delivery. 

The third pizzeria in the chain was also opened in Mariupol, on the Left Bank of the city. The USAID organisation helped to open it and provided very cool equipment for the kitchen. The ovens in this pizzeria were the coolest and most powerful of all the equipment in the chain. This pizzeria also differed from the previous ones, as it did not have a guest room, only a window to pick up pizza and delivery services.

The fourth was a pizzeria in Myrnohrad, a small town in the Donetsk region near Pokrovsk. We built it during the lockdown in 2020, and it started operating on 4 July 2020. In February 2022, we found a place for the 5th pizzeria in Kramatorsk, but we didn't have time to do anything. The war broke out.

At the beginning of the war, we lost our pizzerias in Mariupol. The central pizzeria was destroyed by a Nazi missile that hit the building, and the pizzeria on the Left Bank was looted. We closed the two remaining pizzerias and took the equipment to the city of Dnipro. There, we found a suitable premises and started making humanitarian pizza, which we delivered to Donetsk Region to frontline towns and districts every day. We made up to 1500 pizzas a day. In the summer of 2022, we moved some of the equipment back to Pokrovsk and re-launched the pizzeria there.  In December, we found premises in Kyiv's Troyeschyna district and began construction of a new pizzeria. It was opened on 15 March 2023.

In late summer 2023, we reopened the pizzeria in Myrnohrad.
